Long term plan for Years 1-4

In addition to the Year group planning, there are times where the whole school comes together to share learning and experiences. This year they are:

Autumn: Remembrance and Celebration

This year the 100 year celebration of the end of World War 1, Diwali and Bonfire night were in the same week.  We planned a week where children found out more about these events and why they are marked.

Spring: Book Week

As part of our work to promote reading and the love of books, we want World Book day to be more than about dressing up.  We planned a wide of activities to promote reading: book at breakfast, reading buddies, library visits, author workshops, bookshop workshop and much more.

Summer: STEAM Week

This year we will be focused on the environment - and looking at our part in protecting it.  We will look at how we can reduce single use plastic, create recycled art and look at our impact on the environment and how to reduce this. We will focus this around a book: The Curious Gardener and use our school grounds to support pupils' understanding.

Plays and Performances 2018-19

Every child has the opportunity to perform across the year in a range of events.

Class Assemblies

Every class will share their learning 3 times across the year.  Parents will be invited to attend.  Through this pupils will have the opportunity to develop their confidence by taking part.
