Term 3 - Through the Ages

Week 2 (w/c 11th January)

Thank you for all your support while we are, once again, relying on remote teaching for most of the children.

Or learning this term will be summarised and celebrated each week with a short newsletter. This will also be posted on our Google Classroom.

Best wishes,

Mrs Middlemore, Miss Holmes, Miss Bone and Mrs Parsons.

Through the Ages

This term, we will be learning about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. We will be looking at life in Britain and the changes that occurred through this time period, including beliefs, settlements, tools and people. We will be developing our historical skills by considering the value of different sources, learning about archaeology and how we learn about a time of which there is no written record.

In English we will be beginning to use direct speech to enhance a narrative and newspapers as a non-fiction text.

In maths, we will be continuing to develop our fluency in multiplication and division within the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables (keep practising on Time Tables Rock Stars!) We will be beginning to use the column method to record more challenging multiplication, for example 22 x 4, and partitioning numbers to make division of larger numbers easier:

PE will continue to take place on a Tuesday, this term we will be focusing on netball and handball - beginning by learning how to catch a variety of different sized balls.
