Welcome to the Year 3 Webpage.
Welcome to Year 3. We have another exciting year ahead. Now the children have started their journey into Key Stage Two we are expecting them to be much more independent.
There are some important changes for the children including that they provide their own snack for break time, please include a healthy snack for them in their lunchbox. We also expect the children to read at least 4 times a week at home to improve their reading stamina and fluency. We have lots of exciting opportunities for the children too including violin lessons and lots of new exciting topics. Our first topic this year is called Urban Pioneers. We will be focusing on our local area and discovering destinations further afield including learning about Berlin in our guided reading text. You can find all the information on our Urban Pioneers page below.
Some important things to remember;
PE is now on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please send your children to school in their PE kits with a jumper and suitable bottoms so they are warm enough throughout the day.
Violin lessons will be held as a class on Tuesday afternoons and the children will be given a violin or cello to use in these lessons.
The children have now been given reading books and we expect them to record their reading in their reading journal every week. Any books or information that they have read with an adult or independently can be included in here and we can’t wait to see how much they will enjoy reading lots of different texts.
